Focus on the topics that decide the grade: financial statements, adjustments, ratios and exam technique.
One-hour paid trial · Same-day reply · from RM75/hr
Who this is for
- Year 11 students in their exam year who want to lift their grade
- Students strong on theory but losing marks on presentation and technique
- Private candidates preparing for a final series
What we cover
In the exam year we prioritise the topics and skills that move a grade most. These are producing clean financial statements under time pressure, handling adjustments correctly, and writing the analysis and evaluation that earn the higher marks.
- Financial statements to a time limit, laid out to the mark scheme’s expectations
- Year-end adjustments and their effect on both statements
- Control accounts, bank reconciliation and correction of errors
- Ratio analysis and how to write the interpretation
- Reading the requirement and presenting workings for method marks
- Timed practice on full questions, with a review of where the minutes went
- A short list of repeat mistakes from your own recent answers, tracked until they stop
Every syllabus and exam fact on this site is cited to the exam board’s official documents. See exam boards and Sources.

Rate and trial
from RM75/hr.
The exact rate depends on the teacher and the level. We confirm it on WhatsApp before you book. The trial is a paid one-hour lesson with the teacher who would continue: they find the gaps and teach a real topic. After that, you arrange lessons one at a time.
Targeted 1-to-1 exam prep vs self-revision alone
| 1-to-1 exam prep | Self-revision only | |
|---|---|---|
| Feedback on your actual answers | ✓ | No |
| Fixing presentation/method-mark losses | ✓ | No |
| A plan for the weeks left | ✓ | Ad hoc |
When the other option is better: If your child already scores at their target grade in timed practice, they may only need a few checkpoint sessions. Weekly lessons may not be necessary.
Exam year is a different job
Students come to us in Year 11 with a sharper question. It is no longer how to understand the subject. It is how to turn what they know into the grade they want.
Many Year 11 students are not short of knowledge. They can explain the theory, yet the marks they receive are lower than their understanding. Closing that gap is the real work of exam preparation.
Fixing the marks that leak
Students who are strong on theory often lose marks on presentation and technique. This is one of the most fixable problems in the subject. Accounting rewards neat layout.
Careless slips cost marks the student earned in their head. Examples are an income statement with a missing heading or a figure in the wrong column. Others are a statement of financial position that does not balance because of a careless transfer, or workings a marker cannot follow.
Our first step is often to go through recent answers and find the repeating leaks. Once a student sees they lose the same two or three marks in the same ways, the fix becomes concrete. A student told only to work harder has nowhere to put the effort.
A student who can see that a correct heading and a labelled figure are worth real marks has a clear target. We turn a vague sense of underperforming into a short list of habits to change, and habits can be trained.
Technique under time pressure
A student can be flawless on a question with unlimited time and still struggle against the clock.
Exam performance is a skill of its own. It means reading the requirement precisely and deciding what the question asks before writing. It also means sharing the time so no question is left unstarted, and knowing when an answer is good enough to move on.
We build this with full questions under realistic conditions. Then we review not only whether the answer was right but where the minutes went and where the student hesitated.
We still cover the whole syllabus, because thorough coverage builds confidence. We make the student fluent in the standard question types, so whatever the wording, they recognise the shape and respond calmly.
Private candidates in a final series
A private candidate has no daily classroom, no teacher setting the pace, and often no one to check that their revision covers the right ground. We help them build a full picture of the syllabus, plan the remaining time and provide the steady checkpoint a school would normally supply. Because lessons are online and 1-to-1, a candidate can fit serious preparation around work or other commitments.
What the first weeks look like
The trial lesson doubles as an assessment. The teacher who would continue with your child looks at current work, listens to how they explain their reasoning and judges the distance to the target grade. In a final year time is the scarcest resource, so we set priorities.
For one student that means relentless practice on presentation. For another it means shoring up two or three topics that keep going wrong. For a private candidate it may mean teaching new ground in order.
After that, lessons alternate between teaching and timed practice. Each student leaves with one small task for the week, such as one timed question or one ledger to rebuild from memory. If the school runs mock exams, we prepare for those.
After lessons we tell you what we worked on, how your child performed and what still needs attention. Is meaningful improvement still possible this late?
Often yes. Presentation and technique marks are among the fastest to recover, and a student who already understands the subject often has more room to climb than they realise.
Lessons start from RM75 an hour, with the exact rate agreed beforehand. If your child's answers keep losing marks they should be earning, a teacher can go through a recent paper with them line by line. Book a trial class.

Frequently asked questions
How late is too late to start?
It is rarely too late. Even a few weeks of focused work on presentation and adjustments can recover marks. Message us and we will tell you what is realistic.
Do you predict which questions will come up?
We teach the whole syllabus and the technique to handle whatever the paper asks.
Can you help with a specific weak topic?
Yes, tell us the topic on WhatsApp and we can focus sessions on it, for example incomplete records or ratios.
